The capital of the republic, Bratislava, is very popular with tourists. First of all, it is connected with the local architecture. The old town with its town halls, monasteries and cathedrals, brick roofs, castles and towers has its own unique image. It's worth visiting the historic centre of Bratislava, St. Martin's Cathedral and Castle Hrad, from where you can take in a bird's eye view of the Danube. In the city of Banská Bystrica, tourists admire the wonderfully preserved examples of Gothic architecture.Popular places among travellers include the Slovak health resorts. In the mountains near the city of Bardejov there are 8 unique mineral springs, where, according to tourists, you can cure your illnesses. The most famous resort in Slovakia is the Štrbské Pleso, standing at an altitude of 1,355 metres.
