You could get a reservation for the ferry, but reservations only account for 90% of the vehicles. Show up early and get a spot without one.

If you are taking your car, make a reservation! Easy paid parking near terminal ($10 per 24 hours).

If you want a nice window seat inside get out of your car as soon as you park it on the ferry and head up to the seats. Otherwise you may have a poor choice of seats.
