Get a Waitrose loyalty card so you can claim a daily free coffee. Be aware, around 9am the coffee shop gets busy with folks claiming their free drink. As a scheme to get you into the shop, it works!

Rather than saying "I did not hear it". Customers as well as workers can be mistaken but denying the someone's explicit statement is against the policy of honesty & does not suit the beauty of RP.

However my fault was lesser by reading the displayed inward sign of the day's soup, whereas the waitress ruthlessly contended that I did not say it out the order as "A bowl of tomato basil soup pls"
