Amazing fresh shellfish. The platter is great. The native oysters are so sweet and delicious (in season Sept-April). We visit every time we are near Mersea.

Try the native oysters and the seafood platters. Good fish and chips. Good wine list.

Not sure what is so special about this place. Oysters are not THAT great to travel, found alive worm on the plate. Cod was so-so, salmon was good. Overall, just a village public house.

Great food all round but you have to try the oysters, almost as good as Tasmanian. Staff are all friendly, families welcome as staff took some of the kids while parents had their lunch 😁
