I hadn’t been since I was a kid, and it was nice to take a day and experience it again as an adult interested in this part of history. See the church, Bloody Lane and Burnside’s Bridge.

It will take all day to properly do this, but once you have you will have an amazing understanding of this battle and of its importance

The museum opens at 9am and it shows a wonderful film that gives a visitor more perspective on the battle and the sites to see during once's stay at the battlefield. A must-see for visitors.

This is one of America's best remembered battlefields. Take the driving tour and follow the map and you will find the three parts of the day of battle here very easy to understand.

Bug spray is a must!!! Even just walking near the church we were constantly swatting bugs away. Kids 6+ yrs old might like asking questions to people in historical clothing near the church.
