Take note of public onsen opening hours AND closing days. We walked all the way to one only to discover it’s their closed day🙁

Things you must do: 1) go onsen hopping, 2) eat Tajima beef & fresh snow crab, 3) walk around town in a yukata (unlined kimono), 4) sample local & affordable beer & sake

JR train from Shin-Osaka took 2hrs 40mins. We bought the JR-West Kansai Wide Area Pass (5-days) which allowed us unlimited rides here, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe for JPY 9,500

1.400年あまりの歴史をもつ但州城崎温泉は柳並木が続く大谿川に沿って旅館、お土産やさん、飲食店が立ち並び、これこそ温泉街！というような情緒が漂っており、しっとりと落ち着いた雰囲気に包まれています。浴衣に下駄をカラコロ鳴らして7つの外湯めぐりをするのが城崎温泉の楽しみ方です。
