When entering estate have cash ready for entry! Lovely gardens and miles & miles of walks,, have stout shoes & water as little available when away from main house etc. Arrive early to explore estate.

Stunning house that was the vision of Victorian inventor Lord Armstrong. Set in impressive landscaped gardens it was the first house in the world lit by hydroelectricity.

Great view. Dog friendly. A bit pricey for entrance. But worth the experience. Plenty of food craft and drinks shops. Nice garden.

Very scenic! Not much to do after looking round the house but it's only open for a few hours a day anyway

Lovely place but very limited exploring if you have a baby and no sling. House staff are very accommodating if you want to your tour the house with a loan baby carrier.
